SocialChainGangs.com

What’s your idea?

A website for people to register either or both of the following:

  1. Their willingness to set aside a specific day, as marked on a calendar, to join a social chain gang to blitz a days work on something
  2. A suggestion as to what needs done in a day and the social/ environmental benefit and allocate days when it could be done - and who would help manage it.

The website will then run votes on what is to be done on a certain day. It will also produce project folders along the following lines ‘how to run a Social Chain Gang day’ as well as the usual FAQ s.

From 1-5, what stage of development would you say your idea was in?

Just an idea and name for now. There a quite a few volunteer sites but there’s nothing aimed at the social networker (this could be a mobile app ‘join in this chain gang’) or families just wanting to do a day here and there.

What can we do for you?

This is an idea to take to the SI Scotland camp. I’ve had it for a while but not been in a position to take  it forward and I feel it would be a simple and ideal project for SICamp.

This idea was submitted by Gavin Robertson.

Gavin works for a new start up looking to network public transport information with social networking.
