Our call for ideas has now closed for Social Innovation Camp June 2009. You can read about the ideas submitted here.
Have a look at our ideas criteria and examples to find out more about what we’re looking for. Or check out the projects and winners from our last Social Innovation Camp held in London in December 2008.
Please keep your answers as concise as possible.
Your idea
- In less than 100 words, what is your idea?
- What is the social need or challenge your idea could address?
- What’s really new about your idea?
Stage of development
- What inspired you to come up with your idea in the first place?
- From 1-5, what stage of development would you say your idea was in?
1 being very early stages: you’ve thought about if it might work, had a look around to see if it already exists and discussed it with a couple of people, but nothing more. 5 being fairly well developed, with a potential group of co-developers.
Please also give brief details, including the number of people who you’d like to come to the Social Innovation Camp weekend, who they are and what their roles in creating your idea were.
What can we do for you?
- In order of importance for helping the development of your idea at this stage how would you rank the following:
- Geek - to help you create your software
- Mentor - to help you through the process of turning your idea into reality
- Funder - to give you some initial cash
- If Social Innovation Camp is able to help push your idea forward, do you have the time or desire to take ownership of it?
- If not, would you be happy for someone else to take your idea forward?
Tell us a bit about yourself
- What’s your day job?
- What do you do for fun?
- What do you think the best tool on the web is?
- Tell us anything else you think we should know, but keep it to less than 150 words.
Privacy
- Do you want your idea to be ‘open’ or ‘closed’?
We think great ideas should be shared with the world so we’d like to post your idea on our site here, with space for others to comment and for you to post feedback. But, if you prefer, you can opt to keep your idea ‘closed’ and it will not be released online until the ideas for the final selection have been made, at which point it will be made public.
We’ll also add you to our mailing list so you can keep up to date with all the latest Social Innovation Camp news; but if you’d prefer us not to add you on there, just let us know.
Finally, remember to give us a name for your idea, or we’ll have to make one up for you!
Submissions closed on Friday 22nd May 2009.
