What’s your idea?
A catering business that unites people with lower income and people who can cook but are not necessarily trained chefs.
What is the social need or challenge your idea could address?
People can “train” themselves for years to a high standard of food preparation that don’t want to be a chef/caterer but love cooking and could do wit some spare cash. There are lots of people who need caterers but can’t afford caterers prices.
What’s really new about your idea?
It unites two sections of society that are estranged apart from WOM.
What inspired you to come up with your idea in the first place?
I run a catering company of sorts and I’m always shocked by how much we charge (and we’re cheap) and the people who book us tend to be very well off and I thought its a shame “ordinary” people can’t afford this.
From 1-5, what stage of development would you say your idea was in?
1
What can we do for you?
A geek is very important. Next we’d need a mentor. Having a funder is something that would be crucial.
If Social Innovation Camp is able to help push your idea forward, do you have the time or desire to take ownership of it?
I’d like to oversee someone else running it an use my marketing background to support it.
